Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 September 2026
MELIFUYA respects your privacy. This policy explains how information is handled in connection with this website, its contact form, email correspondence and Journal reader-interaction features.
Information provided through contact forms and email
When you contact MELIFUYA through the website form, the information received includes the name and email address you provide, the subject of your enquiry and your message.
Email correspondence may also include attachments and other information you choose to send.
The form’s required fields help MELIFUYA understand and respond to your enquiry. Without a usable email address or sufficient information about the matter, a response may not be possible.
Please provide only the personal information necessary for your enquiry. Do not submit passwords, payment-card details, identity documents or sensitive personal information through the general contact form.
How enquiry information is used
Information provided through contact forms and email is used to respond to enquiries, manage content-permission requests and related communications, maintain necessary correspondence records, address privacy or intellectual property concerns, and meet applicable legal obligations.
It may also be used to identify and address spam, abuse, technical faults or misuse of the contact facilities.
Contacting MELIFUYA does not subscribe you to marketing emails. Enquiry details are not added to a marketing mailing list without an appropriate separate choice or permission.
Contact-form processing
The website contact form is provided through Framer. Submitted information is processed through Framer and delivered to MELIFUYA’s designated contact inbox.
Google’s Gmail service is used to receive, store and manage email correspondence.
Technical information may also be processed to operate and secure the form, deliver submissions and reduce spam and misuse.
Website operation and analytics
This website is hosted on Framer. Technical information is processed as necessary to deliver pages, maintain service reliability, troubleshoot problems and protect the website.
Depending on the service involved, this may include network information such as an IP address, browser and device information, request details and access times.
MELIFUYA uses Framer’s built-in analytics to understand website traffic and improve its pages. According to Framer, this analytics service does not use cookies or persistent identifiers.
That description applies to Framer’s built-in analytics. Separate contact-form and reader-interaction processing is described in the other sections of this policy.
Journal reader interactions
Journal pages include view counts and a reader-response feature that allows a “Absorbed” reaction to be recorded or removed.
These features use article identifiers and interaction records to maintain counts, manage saved reactions and reduce repeated counting. Browser-related identifiers and interaction times may be processed for these purposes.
Cloudflare provides the infrastructure used to operate the reader-response service and store its records.
The reaction feature does not require you to provide a name or email address. Reader totals may be displayed publicly; contact-form details are not displayed as part of those totals.
Reader-response records are used to operate and maintain these features, rather than to build advertising profiles.
Service providers and disclosures
MELIFUYA uses service providers to operate the website and manage information. These include Framer for website hosting, analytics and contact-form processing; Cloudflare for domain and supporting infrastructure, including the Journal reader-response service; and Google for email communications.
Information is processed by these providers as necessary to provide the relevant services and in accordance with their applicable terms and privacy practices.
MELIFUYA does not sell or rent personal information. Other disclosures are made with appropriate consent or where otherwise permitted or required by applicable law.
Processing outside Japan
Service providers may process or store information outside Japan. The locations and arrangements depend on the service and its infrastructure.
Such processing is handled subject to applicable legal requirements, including any required information, safeguards or consent. Publishing this policy does not replace any separate consent that may be required.
Questions about relevant providers, processing locations or safeguards may be sent to the privacy contact below.
Retention
Enquiry information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to address the relevant matter, maintain permission and correspondence records, resolve disputes or satisfy applicable legal obligations.
Reader-interaction records are retained as needed to maintain counts and reaction choices, reduce repeated counting and protect the service. Retention may differ between aggregate article totals, interaction records and technical logs.
Information is reviewed and deleted or otherwise appropriately disposed of when it is no longer needed. Information that is genuinely aggregated and no longer identifies an individual may be retained for editorial and website reporting.
Security
MELIFUYA takes reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration and misuse.
These measures include limiting access to information, protecting the accounts used to handle it, managing service credentials and reviewing how information is stored and shared.
No method of transmission or storage is entirely risk-free. Where a security incident requires notification or other action under applicable law, the relevant steps will be taken.
Your privacy requests
You may contact MELIFUYA to ask about the use of your personal information or to request access, correction, deletion, suspension of use, or other measures available under applicable law.
Please describe your request and provide enough information to identify the relevant correspondence or records. Reasonable verification may be requested where necessary to protect personal information, without seeking more information than is reasonably needed.
Requests and privacy complaints will be addressed without undue delay and in accordance with applicable requirements. Where a request cannot be fulfilled, the response will explain the position as required by applicable law.
External websites
Links to social media platforms and other external websites lead to services operated by third parties. Information handled through those services is subject to their own privacy policies.
